Our Core Labs are the spine of diagnostic medicine. Fast, accurate, and reliable, our labs operate 24/7 and are powered by over 200 staff. The core Labs support the lifesaving services offered by Hamilton Health Sciences such as our world-class surgery team and the Juravinski Cancer Centre. When caring for a patient our Core Labs are often the first stop in obtaining a diagnosis and support treatment decision making.

Our core labs offer a high volume testing capacity, making them a great resource for researchers, animal hospitals, and a variety of other customers. All core labs are mirrored for maximum uptime and our turnaround time (TAT) is extremely fast on both routine and STAT testing. With our high capacity and fast service, you can rest assured your tests will be completed quickly and accurately.
​Intraoperative PTH: Real-time laboratory testing in support of surgery
HRLMP, in collaboration with the head and neck surgery team at McMaster, now provides ioPTH testing at St-Joseph’s core laboratory. The test is performed on plasma samples collected during the parathyroidectomy operation and tested on a Roche Cobas e 4111 analyzer. Samples need centrifugation for one minute and 9 minutes on the Roche analyzer.
